If you’re familiar with Tapestry Weaving but looking to take your work to the next level, this special GuestJam with Jennifer Fleischer of Ibu Textiles will improve your skills to help you become a more confident weaver. Whether it’s working on shapes or adding more texture to your pieces, this class will allow you to customize your own projects and learn skills that take you beyond the basic weaving class. This is a great class to experiment and explore your creativity.
In this GuestJam you will:
Customize a unique weaving project with Jennifer’s guidance
Work on texture
Experiment with yarn weights and colors
Learn to sew in notions
Add in embroidery, macrame, lace and other crafts into your piece
This is the perfect class for those who are confident with basic weaving skills and is a great follow-up to Jennifer’s Tapestry Weaving 101 workshop!
Looms and materials will be included, color selection is limited, but students are welcome to bring their own yarn and other materials they wish to include in their work.
BYOB – crafting is paired best with your favorite drink of choice!
This event is part of Ibu Textiles’ week long artist residency at Artists & Fleas Soho. Ibu Textiles will be debuting new work and hosting an open studio where she will be weaving on site. An interactive community project will also be happening throughout the week where anyone can participate. It’s a great opportunity to learn and see weaving in person.
