How long have you been crafting?
As long as I can remember. It became a tradition for me to make my christmas gifts when I was a college student. My relatives look forward to a little surprise every year.
What do you like about crafting?
Besides the fact that it is relaxing for me, it gives me a sense of accomplishment, self worth and purpose. It also takes my mind out of the craziness of the world and life, and provides an outlet for me. It is like meditation.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever made?
That’s a tough one. I have designed some really cool jewelry and socks (for work) before. I absolutely love my dreamcatchers too. I’d have to say the coolest thing was a painting series I did of a heart/lungs/and brain. They were mixed media with quotes that coincided with the major organ represented.
What do you like about CraftJams?
I love the bonding/togetherness aspect and the opportunity to make connections with other people CraftJams provide. It is hard to meet people in NYC, especially as an adult. Obviously, learning a new skill is always a plus as well.
If you could CraftJam with anyone, who would it be?
Sia, because I love her and her music. I think we’d be fast friends.
What’s the best advice you ever got?
Love yourself first.

For me, anything happy upbeat and healing. I want to feel peace when I’m crafting. Music that comes to mind is Sia, Haim, Alanis Morissette, Jewel, maybe some Dave Matthews.
