Our team believes in the power of meditation to de-stress and uplift ourselves but sometimes traditional or even guided meditation can be difficult. That’s why we pulled together some of our favorite creative activities that we know help us enter a meditative state.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the repetitive motions of a craft like crochet or knitting that requires both focus and muscle memory is the perfect activity to help you tune out your racing thoughts.
Whether it’s paper or digital, collaging is a great way to release stress and focus your mind. Collaging allows you to tune out the world while you crop and cut pictures, you can even focus your collage on how you’re feeling that day! It’s the perfect way to distract AND express yourself.
Picking up a craft you enjoyed as a kid is a great way to reap the benefits of meditative crafting. Try making friendship bracelets, beaded necklaces, or something out of polymer clay!
Crafting can be a much-needed tool for distressing but we know starting a new hobby can be overwhelming, the opposite of what we’re trying to achieve! CraftJam makes starting a new craft fun and easy. Our beginner sessions will guide you through your new hobby in an uplifting and helpful environment and we also offer crafting kits so you don’t have to worry about gathering the right materials, we’ve done the work for you. Check out our upcoming workshops!
