My name is Shelly, I am a stargazer, and my craft of choice is Lettering & Watercolors!
I started Modern Brush Lettering back in 2015 as a creative outlet to have a more positive mindset and de-stress from my previous job.
In my spare time I like to watch Netflix, Hulu, and drink Boba, Coffee & Tea!
My favorite supplies are: Tombow, Daniel Smith, Ecoline, & Prima Marketing!
My favorite thing about crafting is self-expression and the opportunity to create something magical!
What I love most about CraftJam is their friendly team, beautiful space, and workshops.
The best advice I’ve ever received is always ask and don’t give up on yourself and your dreams. Keep dreaming big!
I started my business because I wanted to promote self-love, positivity, happiness, and motivation through my artwork.
My favorite thing about running my own business is the opportunity to work with amazing companies, think outside the box, and to continue to create!
The one thing I wish someone would have told me when starting my own business is to go all in!
My advice to anyone looking to start their own business is to create your vision, develop a mission, share your story, and go all in!
The most important part of my business is the chance to develop beautiful friendships with clients, companies, and Instagram friends.
What are you most looking forward to with your CraftJam class?
I am so excited to finally share the beauty of lettering (with) others and literally pour my heart out with getting started – tools, lettering styles, connecting letters, and so much more! I also want to hear your story and build this awesome friendship! Students who take my class will receive lifetime support from me! 🙂
What do you want your students to walk away from your class with?
Finding a creative outlet to express yourself and the opportunity to meet new friends and build an amazing support system for your journey!
What motivates you to teach and share your skills?
When I first started lettering, I found it difficult to find resources and ways (for) getting started. Remembering that struggle, I love to teach so much because not only do I cover a few intro topics, I go all in. I will share various topics from understanding the tools, getting started, tips, connecting letters, developing a style, reviewing commonly asked questions, and so much more.
