Who knew that a duo as different as rap music and the age old craft of embroidery would mesh together seamlessly? Opposites really do attract in this case. People everywhere are hand embroidering lyrics like “Good Gracious, Ass Is Bodacious” or the age old saying “Mo Money, Mo Problems.” These lyrics are contrasted by decorative flowers using classical embroidery and cross stitch techniques.
This new take on embroidery makes it current again, creating a second coming of young people learning how to embroider. Millennial grew up seeing their grandparents use cross stitch and embroidery techniques, and now they are reclaiming the craft with an ironic twist. It takes it out of the out dated place, and makes it applicable to the world’s current interests.
