What’s your name? Pair it with an adjective that has the same first letter.
What classes do you teach at CraftJam?
Watercolor Florals, Watercolor Calligraphy, Embroidery Wall Art, Embroidery Patches, Floral Embroidery, Paint and Pot Succulents, Pompom and Tassel Earrings, SocialJam Watercolor Hangout, and SocialJam Embroidery Hangout.
How long have you been crafting?
My whole life! My mom tells me that I practically came out of the womb with a paintbrush in hand!
What is your favorite thing about crafting?
How it connects me to all the strong, independent women in my family who taught me everything I know about crafting and how to turn these skills into creative resources to draw upon in times of need. I also love how crafting puts me into a state of "craftfulness" where I can relax and recharge and put aside any and all negative thoughts and just be one with myself.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever made?
A few years ago I painted a majestic tiger in pastels for the World Wildlife Foundation. I've painted many animals before, but that tiger is my absolute favorite and I am immensely proud of what I accomplished with that painting. It was a culmination of everything I learned about the medium and how my skills improved and perfected over the years.
What do you like about CraftJams?
I like to say that my mission in life is to bring the joy of crafting to as many people as possible. CraftJams give me the opportunity to do just that, and I love to see how calm and focused Jammers become as they work in their projects and the sheer delight in their eyes when they proudly display the final work at the end of class.
If you could CraftJam with anyone, who would it be?
Anne Lister. I would love to craft and chat about how it was to break the rules of what a woman should be and dress like and to shatter traditional ideas and beliefs about 19th-century women and their sexuality.
When you aren't crafting, what are you doing?
Thinking about my next craft project!
Best music or playlist to listen while crafting?
I usually listen to audio books when I'm crafting but if not that, it's probably 80's and early 90's playlists on Spotify or Pandora.
